The skull is in the window and facing the street as a reminder of where we are all heading.

That's right. Worm food.
And the list is millions long.

Abe Vigoda, Parenthetical Girls and others tonight at The Smell. 5 bucks. 9pm.

Have you ever felt fulfilled?

I have. I am.

Since I haven't been going out at all I will show you some things I have been doing, namely moving in and fixing up. This is but a corner of the back patio.

We have a BBQ.

And that BBQ has a name. It is 'Noah's Ark'.

This is the kitchen where culinary triumphs and travesties alike take place. 'Shake and Bake' chicken=triumph. 'Nacho Bake'=Travesty.

Front room dining room coming to life.

Magical living room with temporary curtain.

Bedroom corner. Amra, thank you for the naked lady painting.

Outside.

Grocery store, nearly nightly. Got to get that taco seasoning.

Got to be sitting pretty.

Got to bake cakes.

These are images of what it looks like to turn a house into a home.

Do you remember what a sweatbox last year's breakfast show was? I do. I remember it clearly.
A song to learn and sing.

Corey Brewer and Spencer Moody, in town and out on the boulevard.

Kramer showing the World how it's done Down Under.

Truimph Of Lethargy Skinned Alive To Death came down to LA w/ The Cave Singers and played at Family.

They did not play any Area 51 covers.

Nate Harrington designed their new shirt.

As you can see here, that shit sold FAST.

Though I don't think anyone wore it as well as Juan.

Goth Joel, not used to our Southern California sun, got himself a sunburn.

I shouldn't have to mention it, but I will. They were GREAT.

But you probably knew that already.

And happy birthday to Andrea Zollo!

We had to leave before Cave Singers because Small Breed was playing at The Smell. We got there right as Narwhalz Of Sound played.

And this is what that looked like.

Narwhalz.

And then Small Breed's 4th show began.

"You made the pickin' tools, like the first men."

Chair/evening concepts running rampant.

Concept.

I got another roll of film back.

Abe Vigoda video shoot in Elysian Park.

Spooky Vidal.

"Better than a sandwich."

The final White Doggie.

Baby C.

L to R - Techno/Leonard Cohen/Grace Jones.

Marmaloon Thornbird.

Goodnight Doggie.

Hopper in the Hospital.

And the High Desert.

The final White Dog.

Photos by Dan Monick.

Little Nate on a Summer night in Atwater.

That sticker is supossed to save you from cell phone ear cancer.

We were all down at the Little Bird gallery checking out Dan Monick's show.

The donut pile. Very alluring.

My road dog.

And Jessica Hopper is practically a resident of this City.

The Man Of The Hour.

Went to get dinner afterward and found Pete Weiss outside on his moped.

Eat.

And talk.

This is Marty, who for the last three years has been my therapist. I trust him completely.

Midnight at the supermarket, getting all needed ingredients for the next morning breakfast feast.

We had just, with great joy, walked out of Iron Man. It wasn't even particularly awful. It had just run it's course.

In the morning.

Pancakes, biscuits, bacon, smoothies and a basil/cream cheese/veggie sausage scramble.

Clearly trying to get the body ready for summer fun.

This show is not to be missed, and starts promptly at 8. That means you can see this, and still have plenty of time to get to The Smell to see Small Breed. Angelenos, this is a lucky day for you.

Magical creatures.

Luka and Sara, Sumi Ink Club, Lucky Dragons. Speaking of, Lucky Dragons have a new record out just in time for summer.

See them play at any cost and you will see real magic.

It's 100 degrees outside today. Summertime is here.

Anthony Anzalone was in town for a hot minute. He made fun of my clothes. He called them 'flowy', and kept telling me to 'Let it flow'.

Next week he is flying to Memphis, taking a bus to a hardware store to purchase an axe, and going down to the Mississippi River to chop down some trees and build himself a raft. His plan is to then float to New Orleans. He will be alone and without a phone. I asked him what he is going to eat and he plans on catching rats.

A well thought out adventure.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch.

Jenna built a clock.

Dan Monick has a photo show on Saturday.

A mysterious spanish speaking man and Juan Vigoda.

David learns about the one thing better than a sandwich.

And then, BOOSH! The juggernaut known as Small Breed took the floor.

There was a fair amount of macho energy going around the room.

But this wonderful dancing man covered in white powder equalized the room. Look at him go!

Also, Small Breed recorded. Go to their Myspace. Learn it and love it before it ends in a fiery crash!

What? Did you think we wanted to be DJ's? To have a DJ night for years on end? It is simply not so. It has been a very fun few months, and the Cha Cha has been super gracious to host us. Come this Wednesday for the final installment of White Doggie, and help kiss it goodbye in high style. The Doggie is dead, long live the Doggie.

Jessica is in town taking care of her Father, and Aaron was home for about 22 hours. We went over to the gallery.

Have you come by and seen the show yet? Wednesday through Sunday, Noon-ish to five-ish, you really ought to see it.

Aaron cursing the day I was born, Jessica noticing I am there for the first time.

The arrival of Sir DSS.

And later on, at dinner, Stefani reads our astrology charts.
My friends Azazel Jacobs and Sara Diaz made this film, and my brother Nick made the music. It's filmed in Echo Park, and I think it's a pretty accurate picture of what it's like to live here.

Jenna and I have been moving into our new house.

The sun room, soon to have easels in it.

It's been vacant for 10 years.

Mantle envy?

Understandable.

The Hamburger Eyes show was incredible.

Setting up merch.

West Coast Collision.

This is The Man, Ray Potes. One of the most important pieces of the Hamburger Eyes puzzle, and a top notch fellow to boot. And what's that sitting in front of him? Oh, hot off the presses, the new issue of H.E.!

Merch list included 'Black Lavender Cakes'.

Trips To Saturn.

Did you get your free Dustward poster?

Robert and Ray sitting outside and awaiting the masses. Also, let me take a moment here to announce that it is with great pleasure that I tell you that Robert is now the official manager of the Hope Gallery. How lucky are we?

This is a picture of beer.

It was a wild night, and an overwhelming honor to host Hamburger Eyes. Thank you to them and to everyone who came. If you missed the opening, please come by the gallery and check it out. The show is up for a month, and we are open Wednesday thru Sunday, 12-5.

The early bird catches the 2nd ever Small Breed show.

"This is our last show in a non-stadium venue."

And Robert is back from his Pacific Northwest journey, stronger than ever.

Small Breed: Let the aggresive label courting begin! As soon as they finished we had to boogie over to Cha Cha for White Doggie.

And were greeted by Camille in her special suprise homemade White Dog shirt!

And then Aaron walked in wearing his custom White Dog birthday shirt! Oh I was feeling almost too good looking at them. Listen, people of Earth, if you want a White Dog shirt all you need is a Sharpie and a favorite white tee. Make it and take a picture of yourself in it and send me the pic. Go on, make my day!

Kevin is guarding David Kramer's beer.

Mods vs. Rockers.

Randy left the next morning for more endless tour.

Grace infinity, Grace forever.

Trusty.

And a son returns home from war to his mother.

A new Mika Miko single has been recorded.

With Randy Randall at the controls.

Boar meat rigatoni.

Spaghetti and mashed potatoes and corn on the cob.

A sneak preview of the cover, that's what these pictures are.

Noodle hat.

Sour cream burrito.

Pizza.

All those favorite foods.

DSS, pre hand washing.

And post.

We were having a dinner celebrating Aaron's birthday. Here he is showing off his uber rare, highly sought after White Dog tee.

Singing the birthday song to the man of honor.

Aska and Bebel made that cake from scratch.

Brendan got an homage to minimal techno tattoo.

When the bill came all present were suprised that we were charged a fee for bringing our own cake.

Happy birthday pal.

You are an inspiring friend.

And handsome!

Taking pictures of taking pictures of pictures.

And crawling around on the floor.
