The Soiled boys arrived yesterday and immediately started squeezing me for beers and flautas.

Then we headed over to see Cundo, who is fast becoming the Don Zienetra of Teardrops. He showed us around the studio where they would be recording the new Soiled Mattress long player this weekend.

For a mere $4 you can have your baby's name turned into a poem.

As you know, tonight is the first show of the mini west coast tour.

It's at Family on Fairfax around 7PMish. Here is a video to inspire you to show up.
See you there!
The new No Age video, 'Boy Void'.

Soiled Mattress fly in tomorrow, and Thursday, early, they will kick off their West Coast summer boogie at the almighty Family Store. It's free, but you should bring $5 to get a copy of Matthew's new book, '1-800-Mice'.

I went over to this woman Della Rosa's house for an hour yesterday. She was actually my landlord some years ago, but she has alzheimers and can never remember me. The thing about Della, she is an amazing photographer with a huge body of work, and it's all in her house. I keep thinking I should go over and start cataloguing it and making sure it doesn't get lost forever. I wrote down everything I wanted to do and pinned it on her bulliten board so she would remember me when I come back next week.

I couldn't help myself and just had to look through one of the many, many boxes of prints.

OH.

MY.

GOD.
As this excavation unfolds, I imagine you'll be seeing much more of Della.

Single guys in their 30's talking about being single guys in their 30's.

This has been in Aaron's wallet for 5 years. Start small is particularly good advice. How many people have you seen brag about 'making a splash' and 'going big' who fall flat? So yes, start small. Invest yourself. Be steady.Be consistent.

Just keep on moving along.

I have been gone and sort of flat lining. Betsy is moving to Berkeley, and I just feel weird and uninspired, so, yeah, you get nothing but a picture of a parking lot.

The three stages, so far, of depressed music listening-
1. 48 hours of Smog.
2. 36 hours of Earth.
3. 72 hours of Boredoms.
Also, I have stuffed most of my feelings deep down into my hollow leg, but I did buy a plane ticket to go and visit my Mom.

Farwell to the Caprice! We don't want you anymore!

This is a picture of my friend Kaz.
Here at home we haven't figured out much. Haven't chosen a school, haven't chosen a new home/house, haven't packed..
Are all the packages i've been mailing out arriving?

Youth Attack 7".

Deleted Art 12".
I have limited Y.A. singles and VERY limited Deleted Art 12"s available. Email me if you're interested. Also, the Issei Sagawa singles are gone, so don't ask about those.

All y'all in California are ready for this, right?

David Scheid was home long enough to run a few errands and go to the Dan Flavin exhibit.

Afterward I dropped him off with Dinosaur Jr., who he will be tour managing for the next four months. So much for Summer vacation!

And here is a picture of Lou Barlow dragging David away. So long pal!

Time to go have a look at the Berkeley campus.

This would be her stomping grounds. I guess I was kind of hoping she would hate it here, but the minute we walked on I saw that it was incredible and I saw that it is real, and She might just have to move up here to follow her dream.

We took a trip up to the top of the school tower to give it a good survey.

It's funny, I could clearly see the turmoil from getting everything she has worked for laid at her feet. I don't want her to move, but I also really want to see her dreams come true, and I am not going to stand in the way of a decision like this. It's a big one!

And oh yeah, I met Mark Twain.

There was kind of a mini nervous breakdown and we decided to get away from the bay area immediately! We drove to Santa Cruz to get a hotel, escape the pressure of school decision making, and visit with Amra. We ate some excellent food and watched 'Intervention' and slept for 10 hours straight.

In the morning Amra took us on the Santa Cruz tour, and I think gave some good advice.

And then we headed home on the 101, stopping in some of the cooler sounding little California towns. It was almost 900 miles in 48 hours, and now there is all kinds of worry and choices to make. Whatever happens, it will be alright.

But I wonder what it will be?

Last night, because we could, we drove to Berkeley in the night.

This greasy french fry gave Betsy a sudden burst of late night energy. You'll see.

See. Grease energy. Cell phone microphone. It was sudden, and didn't last long.

We were in a Best Western in Pleasanton by 2:30 in the morning. Today Betsy will tour the Berkeley campus, and I will hock No Age 12"s to the homeless on Telegraph.

The 'beige' No Age 12"s finally arrived. They had said to me that beige might be difficult for them to mix, so I just told them to go for it.

So, in an attempt to give me beige, they made a puke/goulash variety. Amazing!
They are all on their way via the USPS. Enjoy!

Wheat pasting Sads posters for the 'Miniature Moons' video shoot.

Filmed around town, and ending up at Choke.

Dan and Aska.

Jeff unlocked the shop and made us his perfect lattes before leaving. Thanks Jeff!

Betsy practiced her punches all day, her 'De La Hoya Flurries'.

Pharoah.

What's Your Rupture?

Aaron was shredding on his new axe.

And oh my god are you ready to see who showed up?

RITA! And her Dad, Mr. Valentino with his new orange Staceys.

Nice!

Haha Rita! I love Rita!

It's Summertime!

Betsy also got accepted to Berkeley! Full scholarship! Three MORE cheers for the brain!

Placing our bets for the De La Hoya / Mayweather, Golden Boy / Pretty Boy fight!

Like the rest of Los Angeles, I was, of course, rooting for De La Hoya.

"Why doesn't De La Hoya unholster his deadly jab?"

12 rounds makes you tense. I had a neck ache for a solid 24 hours afterward.

Oscar lost. I cheered myself up by feeling for the kicks of my new nephew.

Some didn't recover so easily.

Big Eddie sold me my first ever new car yesterday. I've never had anything but great big American gas guzzlers, and I wanted to help save the bees. I also wanted to feel more relaxed when driving. I have been unregistered and uninsured for almost two years.

This is Camara. He hooked up the test drives. Thanks Camara!

And here is Todd congratulating me on the 2004 black Camry I got! Thanks Todd!

Probably the best feature. The trunk is big enough to stash my girlfriend in comfortably.

I made the mixtapes for this months mail order! Woof!
OK, important NO AGE info. There has been a real hold up with the vinyl, which if you pre-ordered, you already know. Yesterday, finally, I recieved a little over half of the pressing. Apparently, they had an accident with the stampers about half way through the run, and they are getting new stampers made right now to finish the job. The bummer about this is that they have not pressed the colored vinyl copies yet! This sucks, as I really want to get the colored copies into the hands of all you folks who pre-ordered. I apologize for the wait! I am bugging the plant everyday and I hate to make you all wait. If you don't want to wait for the colored copies, feel free to let me know, and I will send you a black copy right away.

Distros! I am packing your copies up now!

Pressing plant problems aside, I am really really psyched about this record!

For those who know the difference between good and bad, I highly suggest searching out and obtaining the 'Meaningless Leaning Mess' LP from Bone Awl.
There will be geeks referencing this one for the next 20 years..
