I've been in Mexico, right off of Dead Dog Highway, for four days. I got to sit in the back of a police car! Full report coming tonight.

There is nothing left to do in this heatwave but limp to the beach and maintain your awesome tan.

Leslie was back in the Pacific!

And Betsy splashed around like a baby seal.

Hotdog walked down to the water, and before I knew it he had turned into Bo Derek.

And 'True Blue' era Madonna!

It was 119 degrees in Woodland Hills this weekend. It feels like it's 150 in our house.

Leslie packed alot of living into her three day vacation. Every moment was organized and spoken for.

Go to the beach, swim in a pool, go to the movies.

A message from the Beat The Heat Club.

Sage has a new show up in some gallery in Culver City. These bats are a must have for 2006. They were the first thing to sell. I keep mine next to my desk at work. It's for killing PEOPLE.

This looks strangely familiar..

Lil' Sage Vaughn. The next two paintings, like most of the one's in his new show, are huge.I am, as always, very proud of him.

Then we went next door to the tattoo studio to check out Betsy's new piece.

She's going through changes..

Hey Baby Gus. I heard that you have been staring at the bulliten board at home, pointing at the picture of your Mama. Don't worry pal, she is with me, Your fun Uncle. I will send her home to you tomorrow.

Hopper, Rose and Matt Leines. Aaron and Matt were laying out the Sads 12", and oh man, it looks incredible.

Jessica is here for the weekend visiting her beau and eating popsicles.

It was pure dumb luck that we ran into Hunter doing his drivers ed. His instructor looked a little uneasy. Rene screaming "Oh God! Be careful! That kid is a loose cannon!" etc, didn't help.

We went over to see the Matt Leines show. I wish I could buy one of his paintings but the price has gotten too high for my bank account. His stuff blew our minds.

'The Promise Of The North'

Artie Nelson provided some excellent criticism and jokery.

Walking down the hall into a room with a single mic stand sculpture. We doubled over laughing. "Oh! So delicate!"

Summer nights.
The many moods of young Nate Harrington. These were all taken within a four hour period.

He got a free Burzum shirt and could hardly contain himself.

This is Johnny Thunders jacket. The same one he wore on the cover of the New York Dolls first record. It fit Nate perfectly. Nate is 'junkie chic' au naturale.

Post teen fury.

Some of my friends can't resist fancy shoes.

And I can't control myself from buying Judge shirts on ebay.
We all have our crosses to bear.

Whispertown 2000 and Brother Reade played a free show at Sea Level records last night.

Weed axe!

I love free summer shows and record stores filled with people drinking out of paper bags.

"God. White people are so weird."

I hadn't seen BR in awhile. The new songs are crushing. I was filled with pride for my friends the whole time they played.

That kid in the red reminded me of my brother Pat circa 1989. The Crimpshrine days.

" There's a dame in this city and I think that she fit me like 59 Fiftys fit 59 Fiftys."

Day 19.

By 9pm it was over.

July 4th! We set the alarm for 7:15 am and beat the hordes to the beach, claiming our place in the sun.

Polar Bear drove. We listened to the Buckingham/Nicks record, cuz it's summer in California.

Waking up and getting into the ocean before breakfast is the way to go, bro.

Part of the plan was to get home by noon, avoiding the holiday crowd. We did it! Once home though Betsy got bit by a spider...

Oh the pain! Luckily, it was not a brown recluse. Has anyone else noticed how many spiders are in LA right now?

Though even with the painful bite she was able to finish and present me with the ultimate pillowcase. Betsy is a warhorse letting nothing stand in the way of gift giving.

Around 6 it was time to get our gear together for the Dodger game.

And nacho's, and Cracker Jack's..

Our seats were epic.

The Dodgers smoked the Diamondbacks and we sat patiently waiting for the fireworks in a junkfood coma.

And then..

They were pumping the American hits. There were people all around singing along to Neil Diamond's 'Coming To America', and John Cougar Mellancamp's 'Pink Houses'. I think I even spied a few prideful tears.

We were broing down with the proletariat. Big time.

Here comes the grand finale..Finally.

It was the best 4th of July ever.

On some lucky days Kime throws out a painting. Keep your eyes peeled when you drive by Showpony.

We said goodbye to Kaylan. She moved back to Austin to go swimming and do yoga.

'War Of The Superbikes'

The masses have arrived at the beach.

"Quit honkin' my bits!"
