A Series Of Successful Gestures.

Every year on the 4th of July, Echo Park becomes an open air firework market and warzone.

And by nightfall there are a thousand people surrounding the lake trying their best to light palm trees on fire with Roman Candles.

And if a palm tree is set alight, the whole crowd gasps in excitement and the fire department comes.

Earlier in the day he had been attacked by two dogs, and the smallest one bit him right on the nose. Here he is seen bloodied and ecstatic, lighting bottle rockets clenched between his teeth.
